Family-Favorite Crispy Bacon Brussels Sprouts

Sometimes the simplest recipes end up being the ones everyone asks for again and again.

These Crispy Bacon Brussels Sprouts started as a quick side dish one night, and they immediately became a favorite. The sprouts come out beautifully browned and crispy on the edges, tossed with savory bacon and finished with the incredible flavor of Tuscan Herb Olive Oil from Abingdon Olive Oil Company.

Even people who normally say they don’t like Brussels sprouts tend to change their minds after trying them this way.

The trick is starting with a hot baking sheet coated in olive oil while the oven preheats. When the Brussels sprouts hit the pan, they begin to crisp immediately—giving you those golden caramelized edges that make roasted vegetables so delicious.

Add crispy bacon at the end and suddenly you have a side dish that feels hearty, flavorful, and perfect for the whole family.

Why This Recipe Works (Especially for Families)

Brussels sprouts can sometimes be a tough sell for kids, but roasting them at high heat completely changes their flavor and texture.

Instead of being soft or bitter, they become:

• Crispy on the outside
• Tender in the center
• Savory and smoky with bacon
• Packed with flavor from Tuscan Herb Olive Oil

The herbs infused in the olive oil add just the right amount of seasoning without needing a lot of extra ingredients.

It’s a vegetable dish that feels comforting and satisfying, making it a great addition to weeknight dinners.

The Secret to Crispy Brussels Sprouts

The biggest trick to getting great roasted Brussels sprouts is heat.

By placing Tuscan Herb Olive Oil on the baking sheet and letting it heat while the oven preheats, the sprouts immediately start to caramelize when they hit the pan.

This simple step helps create those crispy browned edges that make roasted Brussels sprouts so irresistible.

If you want even more crispiness, you can turn the broiler on for the last minute or two of cooking.

Even Better the Next Day

One of the best surprises with this recipe is how well it reheats.

If you have leftovers, simply toss them into the air fryer for a few minutes. The sprouts actually get even crispier, making them just as delicious the next day.

They’re perfect alongside eggs for breakfast, added to a grain bowl for lunch, or served again with dinner.

Why Quality Ingredients Matter

At Abingdon Olive Oil Company, infused olive oils bring instant flavor to simple dishes.

The Tuscan Herb Olive Oil combines classic Italian herbs with smooth olive oil, giving roasted vegetables a savory, aromatic depth.

Instead of adding multiple herbs and seasonings, the olive oil itself builds the flavor.

When you cook with ingredients like this, even something as simple as Brussels sprouts can turn into a standout dish.
