When you start with premium oils and balsamics, you don’t need complicated steps or a long ingredient list. The flavor does the work for you.

Why This Recipe Works (Especially for Families)
Salmon can sometimes feel intimidating — especially if you’re cooking for kids. But this glaze hits that perfect balance:
- Just enough sweetness from Vermont Maple Balsamic and honey
- Savory depth from Garlic Olive Oil
- A subtle nutty finish from Toasted Sesame Oil
- Mild warmth from ginger
It’s bold enough for adults… but balanced enough for little taste buds.
Served over simple white rice with extra glaze drizzled on top, it becomes comforting, flavorful, and surprisingly approachable for the whole family.
Alternative Cooking Methods (Because Busy Moms Need Options)
Oven Method
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place glazed salmon on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.
Air Fryer Method
Preheat air fryer to 390°F. Cook salmon for 7–9 minutes, depending on thickness, until internal temperature reaches 125–130°F for medium or 140–145°F for well done.
Make Extra Glaze — You’ll Want It
One of the best parts of this recipe is that the glaze isn’t just for salmon.
Try it:
- Brushed over baked or grilled chicken
- Tossed with roasted broccoli or carrots
- Stirred into a quick veggie stir fry
- Drizzled over shrimp
- Spoon over rice bowls for easy meal prep
- Glaze tofu before baking or air frying
It’s sweet, savory, garlicky, and incredibly versatile — the kind of sauce that makes healthy dinners feel exciting.

Maple Sesame Blackened Salmon
A family-friendly blackened salmon glazed with Garlic Olive Oil, Vermont Maple Balsamic, and Toasted Sesame Oil. Sweet, savory, and perfect over rice.
Ingredients
- 4 skinless salmon fillets
- ¼ cup AOOC Garlic Olive Oil
- 3 Tbsp AOOC Vermont Maple Balsamic
- 3 Tbsp AOOC Toasted Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1-2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger (or to taste)
- Dash of salt
- 1–2 Tbsp AOOC Garlic Olive Oil (for cooking)
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the Garlic Olive Oil, Vermont Maple Balsamic, Toasted Sesame Oil, soy sauce, honey, ginger, and salt until smooth and combined.
- Divide the glaze in half. Brush one half generously over both sides of the salmon fillets. Reserve the remaining glaze for serving.
- Heat 1–2 tablespoons of Garlic Olive Oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place salmon in the skillet and cook for about 4–6 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. The glaze will caramelize slightly, creating that beautiful blackened finish.
- Serve over warm white rice and drizzle the reserved glaze overtop.
